Biotherm Homme is sponsoring a one-of-a-kind on a mission to help save the world’s oceans – the AquaPower Expedition. The brand is sponsoring a 72-day voyage across the Atlantic.

Yesterday, April 8th, 2015, a team of scientists, environmental experts and world-class athletes set sail on a catamaran from Guadeloupe. The finishing line is Marseille, France.

The team includes windsurf champion Florian Jung, who is the mission’s leader; and marine biologist Dr. Frauke Bagusche. The team hopes to  draw atention to the issue of ocean pollution. Team members will split their time between surf sessions, beach cleanings and collecting samples from the Atlantic garbage patch, a vast area covered in plastic pollution.

Jung said, “There are over 5 trillion plastic particles, floating around the ocean, enough to cover every foot of coastline on the planet. Think about it. We’re just about to destroy our source of life.”

In addition, Florian Jung will be ‘testing’ Biotherm Homme’s new champion hydrator, Aquapower 72H, out on the high seas. The product is shown at left. It is packaged in a green jar with a silver cap.

Interested fans can follow the team’s online journal throughout the trip.
